TfL Partnership - Collect at Tube Stations across London!
We are delighted to once again be partnering with Transport for London this year, turning tube stations across the capital ‘Pudsey Yellow’ this Appeal, and we need your help!
Last year, a huge team of volunteers took to the stations to collect donations from commuters & Londoners, and this year we are looking to make it bigger & better than ever. Please find below all the information on what’s taking place this year and how you can get involved, fundraising at some of London’s busiest locations during Appeal week. What? A team of amazing volunteers from BBC Children in Need taking over selected TfL underground stations ahead of our Appeal Show on Friday 16 November. This involves taking donations from generous commuters, spreading the word about the Appeal show & most importantly… having fun! All monies raised at your bucket collections can be counted towards your overall total too! New for this year, we’re working with iZettle, meaning that we can take contactless payments too this year, with BBC Children in Need receiving 100% of donations from both cash and card. When? Our two focus days are Friday 16 November (Appeal Day) and Thursday 15 November (busiest day of the week for commuters!). Collections will take place on Wednesday 14 November only at Canary Wharf. The day will be split into three collection sessions: 7am to 10am, 11am to 2pm & 4pm to 7pm. We ask you to “own” an entire session as requested/allocated to ensure we are collecting at peak times & maximise donations! Where? This year, we are focussing on the top 15 busiest and most successful stations in London to maximise the use of our fantastic volunteers. These are: Bank/Monument, Bond Street, Canary Wharf, Chancery Lane, Charing Cross, Euston, Kings Cross, Knightsbridge, Liverpool Street, London Bridge, South Kensington, Tottenham Court Road, Victoria, Waterloo & Westminster. Other stations may be available upon request once our top stations have been allocated. How? We’d love for as many Rotary Clubs to take part, simply by following the information below on how to express an interest. Once we have allocated you a station(s), we’ll confirm with you and let you know more information on the next steps. We’ll then be sending an information pack with everything you need to know included! We’ll be hosting a Briefing Event in London a couple of weeks before the collections where we’ll run through the plans, what to do and answer any questions. You can also collect your buckets! Get involved! If you’d like to take over a station session(s) this November, please let us know ASAP. Please let us know if you have any station or session preferences, and we’ll try to accommodate where possible. Our top stations have thousands of commuters and visitors each day, so please be assured wherever you are placed, it’s sure to be a success! Please email your requests to [email protected] ASAP! |
