Rotary Club of Cambridge Rutherford
The Rotary Club of Cambridge Rutherford has been collecting for Children in Need since 1985. Last year it was held within the Grand Arcade, Cambridge thanks to the Arcade management and support from John Lewis.
BBC Radio Cambridgeshire were a major partner in the event providing a stage for entertainment throughout the day and broadcasting proceedings.
The collection raised over £2,750, our best yet and a worthy outcome of the hard work put into organising the day by David Latham and Michael Hellowell.

Rotary Club of Stone and District
The Rotary Club of Stone and District visited 7 local schools and raised a whopping £1,724.11
The best bit of Stone's activity was showing the kids (and schools) what Rotary can do, talk to many people about Rotary and hopefully go back for other activities throughout the year.
They also stopped traffic to collect in the pouring rain! "This year was our 19th year of collecting from passing motorists, whilst their journey was delayed by the set of traffic lights at the bottom of Christchurch Way (which acts as a by-pass for the main street in our little town of Stone). For all of those years, the local branch of Barclays Bank has kindly received from us, throughout the day, the bucket-loads of coins (and a few notes, and often a quantity of rainwater) as each bucket became too heavy to carry down the lines of stationary cars."
Well done Rotary Club of Stone and District!
